vacation

after being home for about a week i decided i'd better get to blogging our vacation or i'll never get around to it.

this year my family had a reunion in central idaho at the three rivers campground. this is where the selway, clearwater and lochsa rivers all meet. it was very pretty, the rivers i mean. i'm not a huge fan of the brown country, but i guess that's because i've been spoiled here in bellingham. :) we had a really great time camping, visiting, eating, swimming and floating the river. it was great to see family that live farther away that we don't get to see very often, and brooklin got to meet some family she hadn't yet. it was a lot of fun and we are looking forward to getting together again in two years!

after the reunion ended we headed up to spokane to spend a couple days. we went to riverfront park, which has become one of my favorite places to go, not that i get to spokane that often, but i really do like this park. scott and i went there four years ago when we were headed to elk city, id for a reunion. i have to say, this time was a lot more fun because we got to experience it with brooklin. we fed the geese, went on the looff carousel, which brooklin absolutely loved, and we even took a ride on the farris wheele. after all our fun in the park we had dinner at the onion, which was really yummy. i had the best burger ever! i think it was called the state of the onion burger. something like that. anyway it was so good.

the next day we went to the waterslides after a huge fight to get brooklin to take a nap. i wasn't that impressed with the waterpark. maybe because i had just gone to the great wolf lodge a couple weeks earlier. it didn't even come close in comparison. after only an hour and a half we left. we headed over to the spokane valley mall, which was a huge mistake. brooklin ended up throwing the worst fit ever. i was so embarrassed. we had to carry her out screaming and carrying on. i swore off anymore kids right then and there. scott doesn't think i'll be sticking to my guns on this one. :)

the next morning we headed home. i was a little sad to be going home after a week of vacation, like i usually am. but i knew that brooklin definitely needed to get back to some sort of structure and scott needed to get back to making the the bucks, and we were starting to miss our little graycie. thanks, crystal, for taking care of her.

brooklin slept about 3/4 of the way home! i'm sure she was exhausted. it was great.
