happy birthday bug

i am so late in posting this, but better late than never.

last saturday this beautiful little girl of mine turned two. TWO!!! i really cannot believe i have a two year old. where in the heck did the time go? seriously! every older person that has ever told me to enjoy my baby because the time goes by fast, was so right.

the past two weeks i have been thinking a lot about what i was doing two years ago, and i can recall those days as if they were yesterday. i clearly remember scrubbing our apartment top to bottom two days before going into labor. i remember the move into our condo and how excited we were when we got the keys. i remember watching the biggest loser while timing my contractions. i remember not being able to climb our stairs to get my hospital bag, because the contractions were literally killing me. i remember the nurse asking me how far away we lived, before i was finally admitted (there was no way i was going home). i clearly remember how great it felt to get that amazing epidural. ahhh... i remember anxiously awaiting my sweet angel, while my hubby slept on the couch next to me. i remember those first cries as brooklin officially entered this world. i can remember crying along with her. i remember being ready to go home, but so scared to leave. i remember laying in bed with my baby next to me in her rocker, worrying that i wasn't prepared and had no idea what i was doing. i remember how sweet it felt to hold that tiny little child of God, that i had been entrusted with.

oh how i miss the little baby that she was, but i do love, more than anything, the big girl that she has become. brooklin has changed my life and brought so much more to it than i ever thought a child could. she has taught me so much. so much more than i could ever teach her. i am extremely blessed to have her in my life.

okay, enough with the mushy stuff. :)

here are brooklin's 2 year stats:
height: 33 3/4 in.
weight: 28 lbs.
head circ: 19 in.

she is at the 50th percentile for height, and just above the 50th for both weight and head circumference. her doctor is very impressed with her speaking/vocab and her sweet jumping skills. she was jumping all over the doctors office. every time brooklin has a well baby check our doctor tells me that she is absolutely perfect. we are indeed blessed to have such a healthy and happy baby.

some of the things brooklin is in love with include:
books, puzzles, mrs. potato head, the trampoline at my parent's house, bubble baths, the mickey mouse clubhouse (especially the hot dog dance), playing outside, helping mommy feed the kitty, mickey chickens, putting her shoes on, cars movie, and she absolutely adores thomas the train and his friends (she knows them all by name).

i would list the words that she says, but she's gotten pretty dang good, that she can say just about anything you ask her to. some of my favorites are when she says: dr. stockberger, YYYESSSSSSSSSSS!, brookie better (she says that after she's done crying, immediately, it's hilarious), graycie beans (instead of kidney beans; apparently she thinks we're saying kitty beans) and peace out.

man, i love this girl!
