yesterday, while walking into joanns craft store, brooklin noticed the little bird houses that were in the sale bin outside, and of course i couldn't say no. i definitely try to encourage her creativity as much as i can. i actually got really excited about letting her paint her very own bird house. so we picked up some paint along with the other items i went for, and when we got home i promised her she could paint her bird house as soon as she got up from her nap. as soon as she woke up the first words out of her mouth were, "i paint mines bird house now?" she has a very good memory when it comes to stuff like that. so, i stripped her down to her diaper and undershirt and we headed out to the porch to start her little project. she had such a blast. i did have a hard time sitting back and letting her paint the way she wanted to paint (ie. totally mixing the colors). but, it was her project.

she was very into it the whole time and made sure she used every color. the roof definitely got the most attention. all in all it was a great little project for her and turned out to be not too messy. just a little paint in the hair, but i blame myself for not pulling it back in a ponytail to begin with. check out the masterpiece.

i think we might have to take it to grandma and grandpa's though, the chances of a bird living on our balcony are pretty slim.

What a cute project! Way to inspire Brooklin's creativity.
that is so cute! I could seriously eat her up, she is so freaking adorable! And what a cute idea! Lucy would love something like that!
What a doll. Why do they always mix the colors?? Brooklyn has such gorgeous hair I can't get over it.
Congratulations on baby #2!
