annual pumpkin carving party

i can't believe it's that time of year again already! where has the time gone? this last weekend we had our annual pumpkin carving party with our best buds the lydiards and the dahlstroms, and the calders joined us a little later via skype. the carving went a lot better this year, i don't know if it was because i didn't feel as rushed or if i was less worried about brooklin getting into all the guts, but i feel like my pumpkin was a success this time. scott carved three pumpkins in the amount of time i did one, but that's really no surprise. i'm too much of a perfectionist, plus i think i spent more time talking then carving. :) brooklin had a ball poking the pumpkins with the tools and scooping the already removed guts back into the pumpkins. she really did surprise me though, i figured she would have covered herself in goo, but she managed to stay pretty clean. i wish i would have got a picture of her tasting the rinds, but i happened to have slimy hands at the moment.

the two taller ones are scott's and the littler one is jessie's. crystal's, jaxon's, and jonathan's. mine, boomer's, and brookie's. jason's and mine, again.

after the carving we had a yummy dinner which consisted of potato soup, sandwiches, and pumpkin dip and chips. another picture i missed getting. it was so good! while we were waiting to skype the calders we enjoyed some halloween goodies.

we had so much fun. how could you go wrong; good food, good friends, good fun.
